My Story
I was raised in Alaska by parents who loved to travel. I continue to appreciate experiencing the countless adventures the world has to offer. I spent over three decades in the Alaska travel industry, including managing our family's Bed and Breakfast. As empty-nesters, my husband and I have moved south to the warmer climes of La Paz, Mexico. My other passions include writing and sailing.
Travel Style
Being raised in a tourist location, I strive to find vacation destinations that are off the beaten path and unique. While I love to be pampered, I prefer an authentic experience of a locale. Good food is always a welcome attraction.

Off the Beaten Track: Wasilla, Alaska
Wasilla is the largest town in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough of Alaska. It is surrounded by three mountain ranges, stunning glaciers, meandering rivers, history and so much more! This article might be a little misnamed, because Wasilla is actually on the beaten track, sitting right between Anchorage and Denali, but most people just zoom by, and miss so many amazing things! Before moving to Mexico, I lived in Wasilla for 30 years, and we still own our family's bed and breakfast (more about that later!) so I might be biased, but I'd rather consider myself knowledgeable!
