Business Questions
How much does it cost to start as a Fora Advisor, and what do I get with my membership?

Fora membership is $299/year or $49/mo and includes training, booking tools, commission processing, community support, marketing resources, and more.
How long does it typically take to earn my first commission?

Most advisors make their first booking within the first month—some within days if they have friends or family planning trips. Your earning timeline depends on how actively you're building your business and connecting with your existing network.
Commission payments are processed after your client's travel is complete and we've collected payment from our partner suppliers. You'll receive your earnings via direct deposit approximately two weeks after collection, with no invoicing or follow-up required on your part.
How does Fora’s commission structure compare to other host agencies?

Fora offers competitive commissions, with no additional fees taken from your earnings. You keep 70% of commission and once you reach $300k in annual bookings, the split increases to 80/20.
Should I charge planning fees — and how do I set them?

Planning fees are optional. Advisors typically start with $100–250 and adjust based on scope and experience. We have training that helps you learn how to charge a planning fee in our Advanced Curriculum.
What are my tax obligations as a travel advisor?

As an independent contractor, you’re responsible for your own taxes. We provide resources needed to file, but recommend consulting a tax professional.
Do I need to set up an LLC or can I operate as a contractor?

You can operate as a 1099 contractor through Fora. Some advisors choose to form an LLC — it's entirely up to you and you can add an LLC at any point.
What is E&O insurance, and is it required to book travel?

Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance protects you from liability if something goes wrong.
